Start in Audit Mode (Standard 7 SP1)

Audit mode enables you to customize a Windows Embedded Standard 7 installation before shipping the computer to an end-user. In audit mode, you can install applications, add device drivers, run scripts, and test the validity of a Standard 7 installation. Audit mode is a network-enabled environment that does not require settings in Windows Welcome to be applied.

There are a few ways to start in audit mode:
For attended installations, on the Windows Welcome screen, press Shift+Ctrl+F3.
For unattended installations, you can use Image Configuration Editor to create an answer file. Once you have created an answer file in Image Configuration Editor, you can select the Deployment component of Windows Foundation Edition, select the Reseal setting, select Mode, and then select Audit in the Value column. Note
If you use Sysprep to start in audit mode, the computer will be removed from a domain. You must rejoin the computer to a domain in audit mode.
After a computer starts in audit mode, the computer continues to start in audit mode until you configure the computer to start without Windows Welcome.
