Windows Embedded Standard 7 Media

Windows Embedded Standard 7 ships as three ISO images, either on DVDs or as downloadable files. The following table indicates what each image contains.

  • Standard_7_Toolkit.iso
    This image contains the Windows Embedded Standard 7 Toolkit. This ISO will install the Image Configuration Editor tool, which is meant to be run on a development computer.
  • Standard_7_32bit_Bootable_IBW.iso
    This image contains Standard 7 for 32-bit computers. This ISO will install the Image Builder Wizard run time for 32-bit computers, which should be run on a reference or target device.
  • Standard_7_64bit_Bootable_IBW.iso
    This image contains Standard 7 for 64-bit computers. This ISO will install the Image Builder Wizard run time for 64-bit computers, which should be run on a reference or target device.

Note

If you decide to install the 64-bit distribution share (DS) when installing the image contained on the Standard_7_Toolkit.iso, you will be prompted to insert the Standard_7_64bit_Bootable_IBW.iso during installation to complete the installation process.
