The JavaScript Library for Windows Live Messenger Connect is built by using the Microsoft Ajax Library. Microsoft Ajax exposes a type system that enables you to add object-oriented capabilities to your JavaScript code. To learn more about creating, instantiating, and deriving from classes, see Creating Custom Client Script by Using the Microsoft Ajax Library.

Microsoft.Live.Services.Location = function();

Type.registerClass(
    'Microsoft.Live.Services.Location',
    Microsoft.Live.Services.DataItem);

A Location object represents the location information for a contact. An instance of the Contact class can be queried for contact locations by using the locations property. The locations property returns an array of Location objects. Each Location object has an associated type property that returns one of the LocationType values.

All the properties of the Location object are undefined (JavaScript) initially, so that when you get the value of a property that has not been set, undefined is returned.

        var contact = new Microsoft.Live.Services.Contact("firstName");
        var location1 = new Microsoft.Live.Services.Location();
        location1.set_value("location1");
        location1.set_type(Microsoft.Live.Services.LocationType.contactLocationPersonal);
        location1.set_isPrimary(true);
        var location2 = new Microsoft.Live.Services.Location();
        location2.set_value("location2");
        location1.set_type(Microsoft.Live.Services.LocationType.contactLocationBusiness);
        location1.set_isPrimary(false);
        contact.set_locations([location1, location2]);
