The Presence Status control displays a contact's Windows Live Messenger status. It is represented in markup by the status tag.

The following example shows how to insert a default Presence Status control into a Web page.

The following table lists the attributes for the Presence Status control.

Specifies the CID of the contact whose presence status is displayed. If you set the CID to $user, the user's own presence status is displayed.

Sets whether the status is editable. This is applicable only if the CID is set to $user. Otherwise, it is ignored.

Sets the rendering mode of the status.

sign-out-enabled

Sets whether the user can sign out by using this control. This is applicable only if the CID is set to $user. Otherwise, it is ignored.
