Messenger Connect Resource Model
|Current information about Live Connect is now available in the Windows Live Developer Center. The information in the following sections is provided for legacy purposes only.|
The Messenger Connect resource model represents resources such as contacts, photos, and profile information. It conveys their hierarchical relationships as URI-addressable resources.
Because resources are accessible as URIs, the interaction between resources is system independent and HTTP based. The Messenger Connect resource model provides a Representational State Transfer (REST) programming model that uses standard HTTP verbs such as POST, GET, PUT, and DELETE.
The following topics further introduce the Messenger Connect resource model:
Resource Model Overview explains how resources are structured hierarchically, so that their relationships are represented by using URIs, and describes the elements of the URIs.
Interacting with the Resource Model describes how an application accesses various levels of the resource model.
Querying Resources describes the query operators that you can include in the URI to filter data that is returned.
Authorization describes how to use OAuth WRAP to access protected data.
Accessing Resources via HTTP Operations provides examples that demonstrate how to perform HTTP requests on resources.
