The JavaScript Library for Windows Live Messenger Connect is built by using the Microsoft Ajax Library. Microsoft Ajax exposes a type system that enables you to add object-oriented capabilities to your JavaScript code. To learn more about creating, instantiating, and deriving from classes, see Creating Custom Client Script by Using the Microsoft Ajax Library.

Microsoft.Live.Services.AddStatusActivity = function();

The AddStatusActivity class is used to read or create status activities that represent an update of the author's situation, mood, location, or other status.

For more information about the specification for this object type, see "Status" in Atom Activity Base Schema.

An AddStatusActivity object can contain one or more objects of class StatusActivityObject that describe the individual status activities. The status activity objects are accessed with the activityObjects property.

For more information about activities, see Activities Resource and Working with Activities (JavaScript).

The following example demonstrates how to add a status activity to an existing activity collection.

function addStatusActivity() {
    if (myActivitiesCollection) {
        var statusActivityObject = new Microsoft.Live.Services.StatusActivityObject('status activity content');
        var content = $get('txtActivity').value + "  " + new Date();
        var statusActivity = new Microsoft.Live.Services.AddStatusActivity([statusActivityObject], '');

	if (myActivitiesCollection.isValidType(statusActivity)) {
