1.7 Versioning and Capability Negotiation

This document covers versioning issues in the following areas:

  • Protocol Versions: There are no versioning capabilities associated with the CBCP.

  • Capability Negotiation: The capability of PPP to support this protocol is determined through the LCP negotiation of callback configuration option (0x0D). If PPP is capable of supporting this protocol, it will support the usage of operation 0x06 in the callback configuration option negotiated during LCP phase. See section 3.1.3 for more details about this step.
