Creates a new property store for use by a search service application.

Syntax

Detailed Description

The New-SPEnterpriseSearchPropertyDatabase cmdlet creates a new property store for use by a search service application. This cmdlet is used when the search functionality is initially configured to scale out a search application. The PropertyStore object stores metadata about content for a search service application.

Parameters

DatabaseName

Specifies the database for the new property store.

The type must be a valid name of a database; for example, PropertyStoreDB1.

SearchApplication

Specifies the search application that contains the property store collection.

The type must be a valid GUID, in the form 12345678-90ab-cdef-1234-567890bcdefgh; a valid search application name (for example, SearchApp1); or an instance of a valid SearchServiceApplication object.

AssignmentCollection

Manages objects for the purpose of proper disposal. Use of objects, such as SPWeb or SPSite, can use large amounts of memory and use of these objects in Windows PowerShell scripts requires proper memory management. Using the SPAssignment object, you can assign objects to a variable and dispose of the objects after they are needed to free up memory. When SPWeb, SPSite, or SPSiteAdministration objects are used, the objects are automatically disposed of if an assignment collection or the Global parameter is not used.

Note

When the Global parameter is used, all objects are contained in the global store. If objects are not immediately used, or disposed of by using the Stop-SPAssignment command, an out-of-memory scenario can occur.

Specifies the password of the database associated with the Database Name parameter.

DatabaseServer

Specifies the name of the host server for the database that is specified in DatabaseName. The default value is the SQL Server host for the Central Administration database.

The type must be a valid SQL Server host name; for example, SQLServerHost1.

DatabaseUsername

Specifies the account name from the Database Server parameter.

Specifies the server to be used for failover when SQL Server mirroring is used.
