WDDM PresentStats - Present Statistics Test
Note This content applies to the Windows Logo Kit (WLK). For the latest information using the new Windows Hardware Certification Kit (HCK), see Windows HCK User's Guide on the Windows Hardware Dev Center.
Type: Automated Test
Overview
The WDDM PresentStats test verifies that drivers work correctly with the operating system to provide reliable presentation statistics to applications.
Details
The WDDM PresentStats - Present Statistics test verifies that the following scenarios work:
For multihead devices, presentations on 1 swap chain do not affect the present IDs for other swap chains.
The QPC times reported for v-blanks increase at a rate approximately equal to the refresh rate of the monitor that is connected to the corresponding output head.
GPU-bound applications that spin calling the present API (for flipping) should never miss a frame.
The latency reported by the presentation statistics increase linearly with the maximum number of queued presents (for GPU-bound applications).
v-blank IDs reported through the present statistics API agree with the WaitForVerticalBlank API.
Present statistics work for immediate flips, and flips occur during a vertical blank.
Drivers must reliably report vertical-blank interrupts and correctly support flipping to pass this test.
