Preparing for Mobile Broadband Testing

Note  This content applies to the Windows Logo Kit (WLK). For the latest information using the new Windows Hardware Certification Kit (HCK), see Windows HCK User's Guide on the Windows Hardware Dev Center.

To set-up the Mobile Broadband device test, complete the following steps:

  1. Configure the computer as one test device on DTM Client.

  2. Install the DTM test suite on all computers. For more information about installing DTM, see Install.htm - Installation Guide.

  3. Open DTM Studio. The following screen appears.

  4. Under My Explorers, click My Machines. On this screen, you can organize client computers into groups called machine pools. At first, only the following will show up in the list on the Machine Pool tab: Default Pool and System. Default Pool initially contains all the client computers that it can recognize, which includes the client computers that were configured in steps 1 and 2.

Note   If it did not show up under the Machines window pane, you can remove the User Name - Current Owner and User Name - Permanent Owner query from the Machine Query.

  5. Right-click the root machine pool ($), and then click Add Machine Pool. A configuration window appears where you can define the new machine pool, such as the name and scheduling rules.

  6. Define and configure a new machine pool (for example, MBN), and then click OK.

  7. On the Machine Pool tab, click Default Pool, and then drag the relevant machine into the new machine pool.

  8. Press F5 or the refresh button to refresh the screen. Right-click the machine and click Reset Status to get the machine to the Ready state.

Note  You cannot proceed unless all the machines in the newly created machine pool say Ready.
