New for SideShow Drivers

The Windows Driver Kit (WDK) that is released with Windows 7 includes a more robust mechanism for sending events and more efficient asynchronous command completion for Windows SideShow drivers.

SideShow drivers that use the Windows 7 interface to send events ensure that events are reliably sent to the appropriate gadgets. SideShow drivers for Windows 7 should call ISideShowClassExtension2::PostEvent to raise driver events.

Asynchronous command completion makes SideShow drivers less likely to block other drivers. To use it, call ISideShowClassExtension2::InitializeAsync, rather than ISideShowClassExtension::Initialize.
