ResetCommand

The ResetCommand entry identifies the command string that is sent before every send and before every answer.

Format

Single command string.

Examples

HKR, Fax, ResetCommand,, "AT&FS0=0E0V1Q0"

Remarks

In Windows 2000 and later versions, this string is not sent before an answer operation if the fax is configured to be in auto-answer mode (in which case Unimodem has already set up the modem). The command should reset the modem to the following state:

  • Load factory defaults

  • Disable auto-answer

  • Echo OFF

  • Verbose ON

  • Quiet OFF

In Windows 2000 and later versions, the default ResetCommand string is "AT&FS0=0E0V1Q0". If that fails, Unimodem tries "AT&FS0=0E0". If that fails, Unimodem tries "AT&FE0". If all these attempts fail, modem initialization fails. If a ResetCommand entry is placed in the modem's INF file, Unimodem will try to use the latter string.

A null string ("") is a valid entry. In this case, the fax driver will not issue a reset command.
