a.   The standard states that REPLACE is intended for use with languages that use the single-byte character set (SBCS), whereas REPLACEB is intended for use with languages that use the double-byte character set (DBCS).

In Office, REPLACE is intended for use with any language, whereas REPLACEB is intended for use with languages that use the double-byte character set (DBCS).

b.   The standard specifies start-pos shall be greater than or equal to 0.

In Office, start-pos shall be greater than or equal to 1.
