Troubleshooting Local and Connected Mode Issues (Reporting Services in SharePoint Integrated Mode)
Use this topic to troubleshoot and work around issues that you encounter when running Microsoft Office Access reports from a SharePoint Server 2010 or Microsoft SPS2010 site in local mode. For more information about local and remote mode, see Rendering Local Mode Reports in the Report Viewer (Reporting Services in SharePoint Integrated Mode).

Error when URL contains the HistoryID parameter
When you try to navigate through a URL, you receive the following error: "Unable to process your request, because the URL contains the HistoryID parameter. This parameter is not supported when SharePoint is not integrated with SQL Server Reporting Services. Remove the parameter and try again."
This error appears when a user in local mode tries to pass a URL that contains the HistoryID parameter. This parameter is not supported in local mode, only in remote mode. Remove the parameter from the URL and try again.

Error when the SharePoint environment is not integrated with Reporting Services
When you try to navigate to certain SharePoint pages or access certain functionality, you receive the following error: “This functionality is not supported, because SharePoint is not integrated with SQL Server Reporting Services.”
This error occurs when the SharePoint environment is in local mode, but a user tries to access functionality that is supported only in connected mode. This is because some functionality is available only when the SharePoint environment is integrated with a Reporting Services report server. For example, although it is supported to publish a report that uses a shared data source, you cannot manage the shared data source itself from the SharePoint site. If you try to use the data source shortcut menus or pages in SharePoint, you will receive this error when you are in local mode.
The only exception to this behavior are the Central Administration pages. Central Administration pages remain active even in local mode. This is enabled so that you can configure SharePoint integration with a report server at any time.

Error when managing data sources on a SharePoint site in local mode
When you are in local mode, you can render a report that has an embedded shared data source in the .rdl file. However, you cannot edit the data source. If you try to do this, you will receive an error that this is not supported in local mode. Managing data sources in the SharePoint site is supported in only connected mode.
Additionally, it is not supported to embed user names and passwords in the .rsds file. If the schema is invalid, you will receive an rsInvalidRSDSSchema error.

Unable to render report server reports in the Report Viewer
If your SharePoint farm is configured for integration with a report server but you cannot render reports other than Access reports or you receive errors about functionality not being supported in local mode, you may need to activate the Reporting Services feature. You must activate the Reporting Services feature in the features list for each site collection on each of the content sites in the SharePoint farm. Otherwise, only local mode functionality will be available.
