Edit Model (Master Data Services)
Applies To: SQL Server 2016 Preview
In Master Data Services, you can change the name of a model and indicate how many days you want to retain transaction logs.
For more information, see Transactions (Master Data Services).
To perform this procedure:
You must have permission to access the System Administration functional area.
You must be a model administrator. For more information, see Administrators (Master Data Services).
To change a model
In Master Data Services, click System Administration.
On the Model View page, from the menu bar, point to Manage and click Models.
On the Model Maintenance page, in the grid, click the row for the model with the name you want to change.
Click Edit selected model.
In the Model name box, type the updated name of the model.
In the Log Retention Days box, enter the number of days to retain log data. The default value is NULL, which indicates that the value is inherited from system settings in the Master Data Services Configuration Manager. For more information, see System Settings (Master Data Services).
To override the system setting and not remove transaction log data, set this field to -1. To retain only today’s log data and truncate log data for all previous days, set the field to 0. To retain log data for a specified number of days, set the field to the number of days.
Click Save model.
