4.2.3 Site Search SOM Request Message

This section describes the second Site Search message sent to the Group Policy server. This message requests the scope of management of the site in which the computer account is located. The baseObject value contains the distinguished name (DN) of the site.

The site distinguished_name is computed from the site name combined with the configurationNamingContext value obtained in section 4.2.2. The site to which the client computer belongs (the SiteName) is detailed in [MS-WKST] section 3.2.1.6. In this example, the computer policy target account belongs to the site "NA-WA-RED". In this example, the distinguished_name is "CN=NA-WA-RED,CN=Sites,CN=Configuration,DC=test,DC=contoso,DC=com". For more details, see section 2.2.3.
