Lesson 1: Adding a Shipping Method

Because your company needs to ship products to your employees, you need to set up a shipping method and shipping rates. In this lesson, you will add a shipping rate, which is computed based on the subtotal of individual orders.

To add a shipping method

1. Log on to the Commerce Server computer using the user name and password that your system administrator created for you. If you don't know the user name and password, contact your system administrator.

2. Open Business Desk - SupplierAD from either the Start menu or the Desktop.

3. Expand the Orders module, and click Shipping Methods.

4. In the Shipping Methods screen, click on the toolbar, and then select Charge by Subtotal from the drop-down list.

   The Charge by SubTotal – New screen appears. Using this screen you will create a shipping method based on the subtotal of individual orders.

5. In the Charge by Subtotal - New screen, in the Shipping Method Properties section, do the following:

   Use this	To do this
   Language	Select English – United States from the drop-down list.
   Name	Type Blue Yonder Airlines.
   Description	Type We will ship it for you.
   Enabled	Verify that the Shipping method enabled check box is selected.

6. In the Rates section, click New, and then do the following:

   Use this	To do this
   Price, up to	Type 10.
   Shipping Rate	Type 5.

   You have created a shipping rate in which five dollars will be charged to individual orders totaling ten dollars or less.

7. Click Accept, and then click New to add another shipping rate.

8. In the Rates section, do the following:

   Use this	To do this
   Price, up to	Type 20.
   Shipping Rate	Type 10.

   You have created a shipping rate in which ten dollars will be charged to individual orders totaling twenty dollars or less.

9. Click Accept.

10. In the Rates section, do the following:

    Use this	To do this
    Price, up to	Double-click over 20.
    Shipping Rate	Type 15.

    You have created a shipping rate in which 15 dollars will be charged to individual orders totaling more than 20 dollars.

11. Click Accept to add the Over 20 shipping rate.

    You have created a shipping rate in which 15 dollars will be charged to individual orders totaling more than 20 dollars. In this scenario, 20 dollars is the maximum amount that will be charged to ship an individual order.

12. To save the shipping rates and return to the Shipping Methods screen, click on the toolbar.

The shipping rates are saved and will be applied to purchases made from the SupplierAD Web site. Proceed to Lesson 2: Adding a Tax Rate to the Supplier Site.
