DurableSession.BeginCreateSession Method

Creates a new durable session asynchronously.

Namespace: Microsoft.Hpc.Scheduler.Session
Assembly: Microsoft.Hpc.Scheduler.Session (in Microsoft.Hpc.Scheduler.Session.dll)

'Usage
Dim startInfo As SessionStartInfo
Dim callback As AsyncCallback
Dim asyncState As Object
Dim returnValue As IAsyncResult

returnValue = DurableSession.BeginCreateSession(startInfo, callback, asyncState)

public static IAsyncResult BeginCreateSession (
	SessionStartInfo startInfo,
	AsyncCallback callback,
	Object asyncState
)
public static IAsyncResult BeginCreateSession (
	SessionStartInfo startInfo,
	AsyncCallback callback,
	Object asyncState
)
public static function BeginCreateSession (
	startInfo : SessionStartInfo,
	callback : AsyncCallback,
	asyncState : Object
) : IAsyncResult

Parameters

startInfo

A SessionStartInfo object that contains the information that you want to use to start the durable session, such as the head node of the HPC cluster on which you want to start the session and the name of the service

callback

An AsyncCallback object that identifies a callback method that you implement to process the results of the asynchronous operation in a separate thread and is called when the asynchronous operation completes. Can be null.

asyncState

An object that includes user-defined data to pass to the callback method. To get the user-defined data in the callback method, use the System.IAsyncResult.AsyncState property of the IAsyncResult interface that is passed to your callback method. Can be null.

Return Value

An IAsyncResult interface that represents the status of the asynchronous operation. Use this interface when you call the EndCreateSession method.

Platform Note: This method was introduced in Windows HPC Server 2008 R2 and is not supported in earlier versions.
