The specification states: "Arguments: a message-number (required) which may NOT refer to a message marked as deleted."

The client MUST send the message-number argument with the DELE command.

C0025:

The specification states: "Restrictions: may only be given in the TRANSACTION state."

The specification states: "Any future reference to the message-number associated with the message in a POP3 command generates an error."
