This function formats a partition on the storage volume.

Syntax

DWORD PD_FormatPartition(
  DWORD dwStoreId, 
  LPCTSTR szPartName, 
  BYTE bPartType, 
  BOOL bAuto
);

Parameters

  • dwStoreId
    [in] Handle returned by the PD_OpenStore function.
  • szPartName
    [in] Name of the new partition to format.
  • bPartType
    [in] Partition type or identifier.
  • bAuto
    [in] Specifies whether the partition driver automatically selects the default file system or partition type.

Return Value

TRUE indicates success. FALSE indicates failure.
