Digital Video Recorder Overview (Windows Embedded CE 6.0)

1/5/2010

The Digital Video Recorder (DVR) engine allows you more flexibility in how you choose to store and view media. In addition to traditional live media playback, you now also have the option to store media and view it, as many times as you want, at a later date. You also have control over playback speed and playback direction.

In order to provide these additional features, the media must be buffered in memory and persistently stored. This buffering and persistent storage is provided by the DVR engine.
