What's New in the .NET Micro Framework Platform SDK
Version 4.1 of the .NET Micro Framework SDK contains the following new features:
- Visual Studio 2010 compatibility: The .NET Micro Framework SDK now supports Visual Studio 2010, including the C# Express Edition.
- Multitargeting: Visual Studio 2010 supports legacy devices through the 4.1 SDK. Choose which legacy .NET Micro Framework version you want to target (version 3.0, 3.0 SP1, or 4.0) in the property pages.
- Support for DPWS custom bindings: Includes support for custom bindings and protocol versioning; full DPWS 1.0 and 1.1 compatibility; and full compatibility with WCF 4.0 and Windows 7. For more information, see Binding and ProtocolVersion.
- DPWS and WCF 4.0 interoperability samples: Additional samples showcase the interoperability with the WCF 4.0 stack.
- Hashtable: The SDK includes a hashtable implementation, from a .NET Micro Framework community development effort. For more information, see Hashtable.
- SPI interface improvements: The SDK includes SPI interface changes for improved speed and flexibility. For more information, see SPI.
- Support for big endian devices: The SDK includes transparent support for big endian devices. See specifics in the Porting Kit documentation for new samples for SH2/2A processors.
- Improved code size diagnostics: The SDK includes improved support for code size diagnostics, both at deployment time and programmatically.
