  • You can open any XML document or file, saved with the file extension .xml. Select XML Files, All Word Documents, or All Files in the Files of type dropdown list.
  • You can open an XML document or file, saved with the file extension .xml, and apply an XSL Transform as the file is opened. Select XML Files, All Word Documents, or All Files in the Files of type dropdown list. Then click on the dropdown arrow on the Open button, select Open with Transform from the menu, and browse for an XML stylesheet file in the Select an XSL Transform dialog box.

Note  You can also have XSL Transforms applied automatically. See Applying an XSLT Transform for detailed instructions about how to do this.
