Create and Validate Specifications

This section describes how to create a specification depending on the type of data you are using. For example, if you are working with a delimited flat file, you will need to create a specification based on that flat file. It is important to understand issues with invalid Extensible Markup Language (XML) name characters when you work with specifications because if you use an invalid Unicode character in an XML name, that character is translated into an escaped numeric entity when you view it in the specification tree.
