Assembly:  System.Xml (in System.Xml.dll)

public static XmlSchemaSimpleType GetBuiltInSimpleType(
	XmlTypeCode typeCode

Type: System.Xml.Schema.XmlTypeCode

One of the XmlTypeCode values representing the simple type.

Return Value

Type: System.Xml.Schema.XmlSchemaSimpleType
The XmlSchemaSimpleType that represents the built-in simple type.

You can’t directly serialize the built-in type. If you need to do so, the workaround is to create a new simple type which derives from the built-in type and use that instead.

The code below shows how to create the type and add it to the schema.

The following code shows the work-around described in remarks.

Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP SP2, Windows XP Media Center Edition, Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, Windows XP Starter Edition, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2000 SP4, Windows Millennium Edition, Windows 98, Windows CE, Windows Mobile for Smartphone, Windows Mobile for Pocket PC, Xbox 360, Zune
