2.1.1.3 Group Names

[0x01][0x02]__MSBROWSE__[0x02][0x01]

All local master browser servers MUST add this name as a group name. This name is used by local master browser servers to periodically announce themselves to local master browser servers for other domains on the subnet. The only message that uses this name is DomainAnnouncement (section 2.2.7).

<machine group>[0x00]

browser clients and servers in <machine group> MUST register this name to process one-to-many mailslot messages. The only CIFS Browser Protocol message that uses this name is AnnouncementRequest (section 2.2.2).

<machine group>[0x1E]

All browser servers and potential browser servers within <machine group> MUST register this name to receive domain-wide broadcasts on a subnet. The only requests that use this name are RequestElection (section 2.2.3), BecomeBackup (section 2.2.6), and LocalMasterAnnouncement (section 2.2.9) frames.
