Kinect Studio Render Plugins

Each render plugin can be enabled or disabled depending on the view. Some render plugins have additional view specific settings.

Accessories Render Plugin Settings

  • Frustum - Displays or hides the lines indicating the sensor frustum.
  • Orientation cube - Displays or hides the +/- X, Y, Z cube in the upper right.
  • Floor plane - Displays or hides the floor plane indicator.

  • Is audible - Displays which audio channel is to be rendered to the speakers.
  • Beam - Displays the audio beam angle.
  • Output, MIC n – Displays the amplitude of individual audio channels across time.

  • Bodies - Displays the body skeletal joints.
  • Joint orientations - Displays arrows indicating the joint orientations.
  • Hands – Displays the current hand-state (Open=>green, Closed=>red, Lasso=>blue, Unknown=>gray).
  • Body information – Displays body information such as the body identifier.

  • Grey Point Cloud - When using this mode, object depth is indicated in greyscale. Objects that are close to the sensor are white, while objects that are farther away are black.
  • Color Point Cloud - When using this mode, object depth is displayed in a spectrum of colors. Objects that are close to the sensor are orange, while objects that are farther away are violet.

  • Surface can be textured - When using this mode, surfaces are displayed as pure white to permit texturing. If the IR or Color plugin is enabled, it will be applied as a texture in the application.
  • Surface with Normal - When using this mode, objects are colored in greyscale based on their surface normal relative to the viewer.
  • Grey Point Cloud - When using this mode, object depth is indicated in greyscale. Objects that are close to the sensor are white, while objects that are farther away are black.
  • Color Point Cloud - When using this mode, object depth is displayed in a spectrum of colors. Objects that are close to the sensor are orange, while objects that are farther away are violet.
