MPI_Pack_size function

Returns the upper bound on the amount of space needed to pack a message.

Syntax

int MPIAPI MPI_Pack_size(
        int          incount,
        MPI_Datatype datatype,
        MPI_Comm     comm,
  _Out_ int          *size
);

Parameters

  • incount
    Count argument to packing call.

  • datatype
    Datatype argument to packing call.

  • comm
    Communicator argument to packing call.

  • size [out]
    Upper bound on size of packed message, in bytes.

Return value

Returns MPI_SUCCESS on success. Otherwise, the return value is an error code.

In Fortran, the return value is stored in the IERROR parameter.
