Why create a CMAK profile in your Internet Explorer 11 (IE11) package

Use the CMAK (Connection Manager Administration Kit) tool to change the appearance of the Connection Manager, and to set up and manage how your employees connect to the Internet or to your private intranet sites and network.

Important

While CMAK is not included in Internet Explorer Administration Kit 11 (IEAK 11), you can include a CMAK connection profile in your Internet Explorer 11 browser package to manage connections for your employees.

By using CMAK to create connections, you can:

  • Use multiple phone numbers per connection profile.

  • Run applications automatically before, during, and after the connection is made.

  • Dynamically update Connection Manager phone books if your access numbers change.

  • Customize connection profiles with bitmaps, specific license agreements, Help files, and command-line parameters.

For information about how to install CMAK, see Install CMAK. For information about how to create a connection profile, see Run the CMAK wizard to create a connection profile, and for information about how to distribute the profile to your employees, see Distribute your connection profile to your users.
