Update, unpublish, and view app and add-in metrics in the Seller Dashboard

Office and SharePoint Add-ins

Update your apps for Office and SharePoint and Office 365 web apps, unpublish (remove) them from Office Store listings and the Seller Dashboard, and view metrics in the Seller Dashboard.

The names "apps for Office" and "apps for SharePoint" are changing to "Office Add-ins" and "SharePoint Add-ins". During the transition, the documentation and the UI of some Office and SharePoint products and Visual Studio tools might still use the terms "apps for Office" and "apps for SharePoint". After you upload your apps or add-ins to the Seller Dashboard, you might want to update them or remove (unpublish) them from Office Store listings. You can also delete your apps or add-ins from the Seller Dashboard. You can also use metrics in the Seller Dashboard to evaluate how your apps and add-ins are performing.

You can edit your saved draft and approved apps or add-ins in the Seller Dashboard. You cannot edit an item that has a pending approval status. Approved items that you edit will go through the approval process again.

To update your app or add-in:

  1. Sign in to the Seller Dashboard with your Microsoft account.

  2. On the APPS tab, under manage, choose the item you want to edit.

  3. On the summary page, if you want to edit a draft item, choose EDIT DRAFT. If you are editing an approved app or add-in, choose EDIT LISTING.

    Note Note

    If you edit an approved app or add-in and submit it, it will go through the approval process again.

  4. In the EDIT APP wizard, make the changes that you want.

  5. After you make your changes, choose SAVE AS DRAFT if you are not ready to submit, or choose SUBMIT FOR APPROVAL to submit your item.

When you unpublish an app or add-in, the system removes it from Office Store listings within a few days.

To unpublish an app or add-in:

  1. Sign in to the Seller Dashboard with your Microsoft account.

  2. On the APPS tab, under manage, choose the item that you want to unpublish.

  3. On the app summary page, choose UNPUBLISH.

You can delete draft submissions or items that you have unpublished. You cannot delete apps or add-ins that are published in a store or that are pending approval.

To delete an app or add-in:

  1. Sign in to the Seller Dashboard with your Microsoft account.

  2. On the APPS tab, under manage, choose the item you want to delete.

  3. On the summary page, choose DELETE.

  4. To confirm the deletion, choose YES, DELETE THIS APP.

After your app or add-in is approved and listed in the Office Store, you can view up to four weeks of data for it on the metrics page in the Seller Dashboard.

The metrics page includes the following information:

  • Browser hits - The number of times you listing has been viewed in the Office Store.

  • Downloads - The number of times the app or add-in has been downloaded from the Office Store.

  • Trial downloads - The number of times the app or add-in has been acquired for free from the Office Store.

  • Trial conversions - The number of times a customer who acquired a trial made a purchase.

  • Purchased seats - The number of seats that have been purchased for your app or add-in.

  • Purchased site licenses - The number of site licenses that have been purchased for your app or add-in.

For apps for SharePoint installed on SharePoint 2013, the metrics page also shows the following usage information:

If the app for SharePoint is installed on-premises, the app usage information is not available.

  • Installs - The number of install attempts.

  • Launches - The number of times the add-in was started.

  • Daily unique users The sum of daily unique users during the time period of the graph you are viewing.

  • Uninstalls - The number of uninstall attempts.

  • Failed installs - The number of failed installs, including retries.

  • Runtime errors - The number of errors that SharePoint 2013 and the add-in logged. This also includes errors logged through the LogCustomAppError and LogCustomRemoteAppError APIs.

  • Failed upgrades - The number of failed upgrades, including retries.

To view metrics:

  1. Sign in to the Seller Dashboard with your Microsoft account.

  2. On the APPS tab, choose metrics.

  3. Choose an item to view the metrics for that item.

To view the sales that your apps and add-ins generated on a per country (or region) per currency basis:

  1. Sign in to the Seller Dashboard with your Microsoft account.

  2. On the APPS tab, choose metrics.

  3. Choose View Sales and Tax Data to open the Sales Report.

Important note Important

This report displays only the total transaction revenue. It does not take into account : taxes withheld, bank charges, currency conversion charges, or the share of the revenue from your app that is paid to Microsoft.
