Bing Translator Requirements
This topic describes the requirements to install the Bing Translator Control and embed it in an application.
Published date: October 21, 2013
The Bing Translator Control translates text from one language to another, using the Microsoft Translator service.
The user must have an Internet connection.
The Translator control translates text in plain text format. The quality of translation depends on the quality of the text to translate.
The Bing Translator Control runs on Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows RT. To add the control to an application, you must have Visual Studio 2012 installed. You can then download the control and register it with your solution.
The Bing Translator Control depends on the Bing Translator Service to perform the actual translation. To gain access to the service for your application, you must subscribe to the Microsoft Translator service, and then register your application with the Windows Azure Data Marketplace. For more information, see How to: Register the Bing Translator Control with the Azure Data Marketplace.
Your registration covers all users of your application.
