The SharePoint Email Web Service Protocol is a SOAP-based protocol that enables system administrators to manage information about contacts and groups of contacts that are controlled by Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) or a directory service that is compatible with AD DS. This protocol also enables system administrators to query the status of operations that are defined by this protocol.

Sections 1.5, 1.8, 1.9, 2, and 3 of this specification are normative. All other sections and examples in this specification are informative.
