Pick Class

.NET Framework (current version)

Provides event-based control flow modeling.

Namespace:   System.Activities.Statements
Assembly:  System.Activities (in System.Activities.dll)

System.Object
  System.Activities.Activity
    System.Activities.NativeActivity
      System.Activities.Statements.Pick

[ContentPropertyAttribute("Branches")]
public sealed class Pick : NativeActivity

NameDescription
System_CAPS_pubmethodPick()

Creates a new instance of the Pick class.

NameDescription
System_CAPS_pubpropertyBranches

System_CAPS_protpropertyCacheId

Gets the identifier of the cache that is unique within the scope of the workflow definition.(Inherited from Activity.)

System_CAPS_pubpropertyDisplayName

Gets or sets an optional friendly name that is used for debugging, validation, exception handling, and tracking.(Inherited from Activity.)

System_CAPS_pubpropertyId

System_CAPS_protpropertyImplementationVersion

Gets or sets the implementation version of the activity.(Inherited from NativeActivity.)

NameDescription
System_CAPS_pubmethodEquals(Object)

Determines whether the specified object is equal to the current object.(Inherited from Object.)

System_CAPS_pubmethodGetHashCode()

Serves as the default hash function. (Inherited from Object.)

System_CAPS_pubmethodGetType()

Gets the Type of the current instance.(Inherited from Object.)

System_CAPS_pubmethodShouldSerializeDisplayName()

Indicates whether the DisplayName property should be serialized.(Inherited from Activity.)

System_CAPS_pubmethodToString()

This activity behaves similarly to T:System.Activities.Statements.Switch in that it executes only one of several activities in response to events. The action chosen to be executed is defined by an event, chosen from a set of events.

The following code sample demonstrates creating a Pick activity. This example is from the Using the Pick Activity sample.

static Activity CreateWF()
{
    Variable<string> name = new Variable<string>();
    Sequence body = new Sequence
    {
        Variables = { name },
        Activities =
        {
            new WriteLine { Text = "What is your name? (You have 5 seconds to answer)" },
            new Pick
            {
               Branches =
               {
                   new PickBranch
                    {
                       Trigger = new ReadString
                       {
                           Result = name,
                           BookmarkName = bookmarkName
                       },
                       Action = new WriteLine
                       {
                           Text = new InArgument<string>(env => "Hello " + name.Get(env))
                       }
                   },
                   new PickBranch
                    {
                       Trigger = new Delay
                       {
                           Duration = TimeSpan.FromSeconds(5)
                       },
                       Action = new WriteLine
                       {
                           Text = "Time is up."
                       }
                   }
               }
           }
       }
    };

    return body;
}
