Limiting Operating System and Browser Vulnerabilities

CCF runs on the Windows operating system and uses Internet Explorer 6 for many Web application capabilities. You should require all clients to have the latest set of updates installed. In addition, you should require that agents lock their client desktops (Windows Key + l) if they leave them unattended.

In addition, you should adhere to these recommendations:

  • The agent should have only User rights to the desktop system.
  • The agent should not have rights to install new software on the system.
  • The agent’s system should be running behind a firewall.
  • The agent should not be able to modify Internet Explorer add-ins.
  • The agent should not have write access to the registry.

In addition, many call centers configure their agents so that they do not have write access to their C: drive, but instead use either a section of a local drive or a network drive for their files.
