How to: Install Team Foundation Server

This procedure describes how to install Visual Studio Team Foundation Server.

If you are installing Team Foundation Server on a server that is already running SharePoint Products, a check box for Team Foundation Server Extensions for SharePoint Products will appear. These extensions are configured automatically during configuration of Team Foundation Server if you specify that you will use a portal server. Do not select this check box.

Required Permissions

To perform this procedure, you must be a member of the Administrators security group.

To install Team Foundation Server

  1. From the Team Foundation Server DVD, launch either the 32-bit or the 64-bit setup.exe to match the operating system that you are running. For more information, see 64-Bit Support in Team Foundation.

The Team Foundation installation wizard appears.

  2. On the Welcome page, click Next.

  3. On the License Terms page, read the terms of the license. Click I have read and accept the license terms, and then click Next.

  4. Click Team Foundation Server, and click Install.

If the installation wizard prompts you to restart your server, click Restart Now. After the server has restarted, installation resumes.

  5. Click Finish.

If you want to configure Team Foundation Server, select the Launch Team Foundation Server Configuration Tool check box.
