Item Properties

Microsoft Dynamics Nav 2009

In the Create Item window, you can set properties for the menu item that you have selected. For example, you may want the menu item to point to a different application object. The following table describes the properties.

Property Description

Object Type

Select one of the following types:

  • Table

  • Form

  • Report

  • Batch job

  • Codeunit

  • Dataport

The RoleTailored client does not support Form or Dataport object types.

Object ID

Use the lookup to select an object from a list. For example, if you select Report as the object type and then click the lookup in Object ID, the Report List is displayed.

By default, the Caption field contains the name that is assigned to the menu item. You can rename it here.

The CaptionML field contains the code for the language that you use on your computer and the name of the menu item, for example, ENU=General Journals. If the menu item will be used in different languages, you must give the menu item a name in each language. Click the AssistButton in the CaptionML field to open the Multilanguage Editor. In the Multilanguage Editor, you can enter a menu item name for each language code.
