.NET Framework (current version)

The .NET API Reference documentation has a new home. Visit the .NET API Browser on to see the new experience.

Releases all resources used by the current instance of the ToBase64Transform class.

Namespace:   System.Security.Cryptography
Assembly:  mscorlib (in mscorlib.dll)

public void Dispose()

Call Dispose when you are finished using the ToBase64Transform. The Dispose method leaves the ToBase64Transform in an unusable state. After calling Dispose, you must release all references to the ToBase64Transform so the garbage collector can reclaim the memory that the ToBase64Transform was occupying.

For more information, see Cleaning Up Unmanaged Resources and Implementing a Dispose Method.

Always call Dispose before you release your last reference to the ToBase64Transform. Otherwise, the resources it is using will not be freed until the garbage collector calls the ToBase64Transform object's Finalize method.
