Dns.GetHostByAddress Method (String)

Creates an IPHostEntry instance from an IP address.

Type: System.String

An IP address.

Return Value

Type: System.Net.IPHostEntry
An IPHostEntry instance.


address is a null reference (Nothing in Visual Basic).


An error is encountered when resolving address.


address is not a valid IP address.
