By using advanced customization techniques, you can change the implementation of many Connection Manager functions. For example, you can:

  • Create a custom button that appears on the Connection Manager user interface to start applications or run processes.

  • Prepopulate user name, password, phone number, and dialing properties for use in your service profile.

  • Show a particular set of phone numbers based on user selection of connection device.

  • Remove the General tab from the Properties dialog boxes for VPN-only service profiles.

  • Control whether the Save password check box appears on the Connection Manager user interface.

  • Control whether the Logon domain field appears.

  • Specify your multilink strategy.

  • Specify logging behavior.

  • Turn off balloon-tip help for Connection Manager.
