DateTimeOffset (EDM)

[This topic is pre-release documentation and is subject to change in future releases. Blank topics are included as placeholders.]

In the Entity Data Model (EDM), the DateTimeOffset type represents an interval of time that can be added to or subtracted from an instance of the DateTime type.

Facets

The DateTimeOffset type supports one EDM simple type facet. The Precision facet indicates the degree of granularity of the DateTimeOffset in fractions of a second, based on the number of decimal places supported. For example a precision of 3 means the granularity supported is milliseconds.

EDM Promotion Rules are sufficient to determine the following CLR -> Canonical -> Store function mappings.
