MapPoint Web Service Map Styles

MapPoint Web Service is deprecated and will be retired November 18, 2011. Please go to http://www.microsoft.com/maps/mappoint.aspx for information about upgrading to Bing Maps.

The following table lists the possible map styles you can use for rendering a map, the valid data sources for each map style, and the default map style for each data source. The Name column lists the MapStyle enumeration member.

Note MapPoint Web Service constrains the map view in terms of how far the map is zoomed out or zoomed in. The constraints vary per data source and map style. If the MapSpecification.Views or MapSpecification.Options properties are set such that these limits would be exceeded, the returned map image is modified to meet the limit and the MapImage.View property contains the returned view.
