RMS in Windows Server 2008

[The AD RMS SDK leveraging functionality exposed by the client in Msdrm.dll is available for use in Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows 7, Windows Server 2012, and Windows 8. It may be altered or unavailable in subsequent versions. Instead, use Active Directory Rights Management Services SDK 2.1, which leverages functionality exposed by the client in Msipc.dll.]

The Active Directory Rights Management Services (AD RMS) server is included in the operating system, and the AD RMS SDK is included in the Microsoft Windows SDK which you can download from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads.

The DRMEnumerateLicense function can now be used to enumerate the retrieved templates. You can also use the following functions and web methods if you find it necessary to manually download the issuance license templates:

You can use the new scripting API to administer an AD RMS server and generate reports. For more information, see Active Directory Rights Management Scripting API.
