The Windows Live Messenger Web Toolkit enables you to build Web-based applications that integrate with Windows Live Messenger. With the Messenger Web Toolkit, you can build presence-enabled instant messaging applications that Web site visitors can use to interact with each other and with other Messenger users.
To use the Messenger Web Toolkit, the following requirements must be met.
-
Each user must have a Windows Live ID. A user does not need to be a current Messenger user; however, a Windows Live ID is required to sign in to Messenger using the Messenger Web Toolkit. A user can obtain a Windows Live ID by visiting the Windows Live ID site. A Hotmail or Windows Live e-mail address is not required to obtain a Windows Live ID; you can use any kind of e-mail address.
-
Users must grant permission to each Web site that hosts a Messenger Web Toolkit application. The Messenger Web Toolkit automatically handles requesting the user permissions where applicable.
