Monitoring Using the Group Hub Page

You can use the Group Hub page to manually monitor BizTalk applications and infrastructure. The BizTalk Server Administration console's Group Hub page allows you to gauge the health of the entire BizTalk group and currently running BizTalk applications. The page displays problems with color-coded indicators to assist in simplifying manual application monitoring.

You can use the Group Hub page to investigate orchestration, port, and message failures. The Group Hub page provides access to the current real-time state of the system, accessing data in the MessageBox database. You can view all service instances such as orchestrations, ports, and messaging, along with their associated messages. Using the Group Hub page you can:

  • See currently running service instances such as orchestrations and messaging, and their associated messages.

  • Look into the MessageBox database for a view of the current data and the real-time state of the system.

  • Suspend, terminate, and resume service instances.

Refer to the full documentation on the Group Hub page in "Using the Group Hub Page" in Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 R2 Help at

Selecting the BizTalk Group node in the BizTalk Server Administration Console displays the Group Hub page in the details pane. The page is divided into the following sectionssections that provide an overall view of the health of your BizTalk Server system:

  • Configuration Overview: Located in the upper part of the Group Hub page, this section indicates the overall health of the BizTalk group by displaying the state of the applications, host instances, and adapter handlers configured in this group.

  • Work in Progress and Suspended Items: Located in the middle of the Group Hub page.

    • Work in Progress: Displays running service instances, dehydrated orchestrations, retrying and idle ports, ready service instances, and scheduled service instances.

    • Suspended Items: Displays the number of suspended service instances, resumable and non-resumable instances, and suspended MSMQT messages.

  • Grouped Suspended Service Instances: Located in the lower part of the Group Hub page, this section displays suspended service instances grouped by application, service name, error code, and URI.

The numbers listed on the Group Hub page are approximate counts only. For example, the numbers displayed under Running service instances or Suspended service instances may not equal the total number of running service instances or suspended service instances. This is because the state of the system can change while the various statistics on the Hub page are being generated.

  • EDI Status Reports and EDIINT Status Reports: Located at the bottom of the Group Hub page, this section displays four reports about EDI interchanges and one about AS2 interchanges: the EDI Interchange and Correlated ACK Status reports, the Batch Status report, the Interchange Aggregation Report, the Transaction Set Aggregation Report, and the AS2 Message and Correlated MDN Status report.
