Editing code

Microsoft Expression Web provides powerful code-editing tools to help you author pages and script.

In addition to the visual Design view, Expression Web offers Code view, a color-coded display of HTML, ASP.NET, PHP, CSS, XML, XSL, JavaScript, Jscript, and VBScript files. For more information about Code view, see Using code views.

Editing in Code view provides capabilities such as adding tags and comments, editing HTML tag properties, and using powerful tools for finding and replacing source code. For more information about editing in Code view, see Editing code.

IntelliSense can display code suggestions and can automatically insert code as you create or modify source code, including end tags, closing braces, and quotation marks around values. It also color-codes the individual elements of the code. For more information about IntelliSense, see Using IntelliSense.
