Hyperlinks site view
The Hyperlinks view in the Web Site window shows a diagram of all files that link to a selected file or that are linked from a selected file. You can set different viewing options and use the diagram to verify hyperlinks to external files.
The diagram represents broken links, including hyperlinks and file references, by an arrow with a shaft that's split in two, and represents links that aren't broken or that are unverified by an arrow with a solid shaft.
Note
The Hyperlinks view is not available in live site editing. For more information about live site editing, see Publishing sites.
To view the status and type of a hyperlink or source reference
- In Hyperlinks view of the Site View, point to the icon of the file the hyperlink or reference points to.
To show or hide the hyperlinks of a file the selected file links to
- In Hyperlinks view of the Site View window, click the plus (+) or minus (-) sign next to the icon of the file.
To show a diagram of a file the selected file links to or is linked from
- In Hyperlinks view of the Site View window, in the diagram, right-click the file you want a diagram of and select Move to Center.
To verify a hyperlink to an external file (a file that isn't part of the current Web site)
- Right-click the icon of the file you want to verify and then click Verify Hyperlink.
To open a listed file
- Either double-click the item in the list or right-click the item and point to Open With and then click a program.
To list web pages by their title instead of their file name
- Right-click a blank area and select Show Page Titles.
To list references to pictures
- Right-click a blank area and select Hyperlinks to Pictures.
To list every instance of identical links
- Right-click a blank area and select Repeated Hyperlinks.
