Attach a different Dynamic Web Template

You can detach a Dynamic Web Template (DWT) and then attach a new DWT to your web pages to change their look or to change the editable regions on your pages.

To retain the content in your web pages, you need to keep the same editable region names in the new DWT. If the new DWT doesn't contain the same editable regions, Microsoft Expression Web gives you the opportunity to match the old regions to new regions.

To attach a different Dynamic Web Template to web pages

  1. Detach the current DWT from your pages. For more information, see Attach or detach a Dynamic Web Template.

  2. Attach the new DWT to your pages. For more information, see Attach or detach a Dynamic Web Template.

If the regions in the DWTs don't match, the Match Editable Regions dialog box opens.

  3. In the Match Editable Regions dialog box, under Current Page, select the page you want to match regions, and then click Modify.

  4. In the Choose Editable Region for Content dialog box, select the matching Old Region and New Region and then click OK.
