Update web pages attached to a Dynamic Web Template

When you update and save a Dynamic Web Template (DWT), Microsoft Expression Web prompts you to update the web pages attached to the DWT. After the updates are complete, a dialog box appears that alerts you to the number of web pages that were updated. To view or hide a list of the pages that were updated, in the Information dialog box, select or clear Show Log.

In addition, you can update individual pages attached to a DWT, or update multiple pages at a time.

Important

If there is a conflict among the DWT and attached pages, then when you attempt to update the attached pages, Expression Web will prompt you to resolve the conflict.

Note

The pages attached to a DWT are managed by using metadata. If the pages attached to a DWT are not properly updated, make sure that you have site metadata added to your site. To add metadata to your site, see Add or remove metadata.

If the pages attached to a DWT are not properly updated after Expression Web prompts you to update the files, synchronize the metadata by clicking Site, and then clicking Recalculate Hyperlinks. For more information about synchronizing metadata, see Recalculate hyperlinks.
