Add RSS feeds to a page

Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is a way to provide news or information summaries, usually with a link to more information. An RSS feed consists of an XML file in a particular format that is updated with new information as it is available. You can easily include RSS feeds on your web pages with Microsoft Expression Web. And you can use the full range of CSS formatting tools in Expression Web to make the RSS feed match—or stand out from—content in the rest of the pages on your site.

To add a local RSS feed to your page, you first add the XML file to the Data Source Library panel, and then add the fields you want to display to your page. As is the case with other XML data sources, you create a Data View when you add an XML file for an RSS feed to the page. The next step is to format the Data View. To add a local RSS feed to a page

If the XML file isn't already in your web site, in the Data Source Library panel, under Current Site, under Local XML Files, click Add an XML file. In the Data Source Properties dialog, browse to the file you want and then click OK to import the file into your web site.
Do one of the following:
- To add all of the XML data, drag the XML file from the Data Source Library panel into the Design view of your web page.
- To add only selected data, put your cursor where you want the data to appear in Design view. Click the XML file in the Data Source Library panel, and then click Show Data. In the Data Source Details panel, hold down CTRL and click to select the fields you want to display in your RSS page. Click Insert Selected Fields as and click Single Item View to insert the RSS feed as a new Data View in your page.
