Optimize the source code of a website
Microsoft Expression Web can remove specified HTML from your pages when you publish your site from the local site to the remote site. Changes appear only in the remote site; your local site is not affected. For information about optimizing HTML in individual pages or in your local site, see Optimize the source code of a single page.
You need to publish your site after you make changes to the optimization options for the changes to take effect in your published site.
To optimize HTML when you publish
In the Remote Web site view, click Remote Web Site Properties.
On the Optimize HTML tab, select When publishing, optimize HTML, and then select the items that you want removed from the page.
To set your options as the default, click Set as default.
To restore default options, click Restore Defaults.
